Become a Writer: Journalism Experience Program invites applicants

Have you applied for journalism jobs, but lacked the required experience?  The Canadian is seeking applicants who are seeking to gain valuable work-related experience in either investigative journalism or publishing.

Applicants must be articulate and self-motivated with a social sciences/liberal arts or humanities academic degree background in university or community college.  If your application is approved, you will become a volunteer writer or editor with The Canadian.

Our Online Experience Program is a 60-day programme.  Applicants who successfully complete our program are eligible to receive a certificate of completion.

As an applicant, you should review agoracosmopolitan.com, and propose the section of our newspaper, which you would like to either become a volunteer writer or volunteer editor while enrolled in our Experience Program.

Please note that Editors are responsible for developing their own newspaper bureaus staffed with volunteer writers.

Editors are required to have previous experience related to the recruitment of volunteers.  Editors also should have a volunteer background on human rights or social activism-related areas.

Volunteer Writers in our Experience Program are required to submit at least one 200 word article every day.  Volunteer writers are eligible to apply for paid freelance gigs with The Canadian after two weeks of making daily editorial submissions.

The Canadian is a socially progressive and not-for-profit national newspaper, with an international readership.
