Last month, on 19 January, a very strange incident was witnessed in the small town of Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador.

According to an anonymous report published on Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) online database, “two bright orange lights” were seen hovering over the Canadian village.

“While walking with a friend, I noticed two bright orange lights, about 60 degrees in the sky, heading northeast to southwest”, the author of the report stated. “We [the witness and his friend] were making comments about how low the crescent moon looked in the sky and I had taken photos earlier, as it was so nice looking”, he added.

The Canadian citizen also asserted that the unidentified objects were flying very low and did not emit any sound. “The two objects did not seem high in the sky (<1500 m) and were heading northeast to southwest over the Atlantic Ocean (Bay St George), maybe a few kilometres away from our point of view”, he explained. “The objects did not have any sound; they did not have any visible flame or smoke trails”, he continued.

He mentioned that the couple of lights showed a very unusual behaviour, slowing down and stopping in several occasions. “The objects were very bright, orange fire-coloured and remained bright until they went out of sight, far away in the distance”, the Newfoundland resident commented. “The objects made a fairly uniform flight path, although slowed at different pace independent of each other, hovered without movement and then continued the flight path”, he expressed.

Finally, according to the unnamed witness, the two UFOs crossed the sky very fast and disappeared in the horizon. “The lights travelled the visible horizon in about a minute. I lost sight when the lights faded from being too far away”, he said.
