Dating: Are Vancouverites Flakey?

We live in Vancouver, of course we’re confused. It rains sometimes. It showers most often. Last summer was wonderful, whereas this summer seems to be almost nonexistent. We cherish the sun more than any other city in Canada. We should learn to cherish ourselves and those who we care about too. Some of us date people just because we can’t be alone, which is quite pathetic. Others of us date people only when we connect on very important similarities and complimentary aspects, which is admirable. Some of us date many people at once because we know how to multitask and like to try new things. Regardless of what your dating style is, try not to let Vancouver’s confusing weather patterns shape you.

Know what you want. Yes, we all wish it would rain less, but we can’t control that. It’s a sacrifice for living in a city that’s green all year round, where we don’t freeze our asses off, and where we can eat the best cheap sushi out there. The rain may get us down at times and it makes us flakey individuals. We use the rain as our number one excuse to stay home. Well if you’re staying home all the time, how will love find you? You don’t find love sitting in your apartment. It finds you when you least expect it but you have to be out there and willing to take chances.

Are Vancouverites flakey because of the fact that our city acts like a depressed jerk too many days in a row sometimes? Yes. Think about it, and consider your own actions.

Don’t forget why you love Vancouver or why you care about your significant other for that matter. When it rains, be optimistic. When you have a conflict with a loved one, consider the reasons and fix it if it’s worth it. Realize how lucky we are to live here, even though we pay more for rent than other Canadians. We are lucky.

We have the ocean, the mountains, greenery and a highway that can get us to Whistler in no time. If you can keep these things in mind it will help you feel peace within yourself and feeling content with yourself is the best way to be when you’re dating someone.

It’s been expressed that this is a difficult city to meet people in. It sure is when you sit at home listening to the rain hit your window. It’s unbelievably easy to meet people when you get out more often, so do it.
