Ebooks: Start Your Career As A Writer Here

There are several reasons why you should start your writing career with ebooks. But writing ebooks is not necessarily about making money right away. Writing ebooks is more about learning how to write in the real world and completing a writing project that is available for sale in a very competitive marketplace.

As a writer, you may have a few unfinished pieces of work sitting around on your computer that you haven’t finished yet, or don’t know how to publish them. This is typical for every great writer who ever sat down at a keyboard.

This is because the problem with writing a full-length novel or self-help book is that you need at least 80,000 well-organized words, put into chapters, and marketed correctly in order to be successful.

On top of that, there may be no one supporting you in your efforts. What first-time author can survive that ordeal?Although, on the other hand, there are many resources where you can get publishing help. And these are the first places (as a new author) where you should go.

In the meantime, however, there is one thing as a commercially successful author that you can do to learn your craft. And that is to publish ebooks. There are several reasons for this:

First, ebooks are shorter in length - which makes the cumbersome effort of writing a full-length book go away. And as a writer, the first thing you want to accomplish is to write and publish a book. Any book. So for your first book, it doesn’t matter whether you publish a paperback or an ebook. Or even if it becomes a bestseller. The only thing that matters is if you finish it and then publish it.

Second, ebooks aren’t something that you should be afraid of pursuing if you want to be a writer. If you make a few mistakes in spelling, grammar, or continuity - any reader who has paid ninety-nine cents will be forgiving. And this is the place to start. You will finish your novel (or your self-help book) with much more support if you start with an ebook first.

Finally, writing an ebook gives you a better idea of how to market a full-length book. By completing a more manageable commercial writing project and then selling it on the internet will give you an idea of how to market your real project to an audience who will be ready to buy.

And this is the real goal. While it’s okay to write on projects and books that you hope will sell, what you really need is a path to publishing books that will appeal to the readers you are trying to reach. But the first step may be to publish ebooks that are realistic for you to finish and then market. By doing this, you may find that you reach a reading public that is eager to read what you have written.  And by reaching them faster through ebooks, you will be more on track to your professional writing goals than you ever imagined.
