Hello, I’m Chris Timms… writer – producer – comedian...

I am an adventurer of life and an explorer of experience. I march to the beat of my very own drum and refuse to be narrow minded. I would think of myself to be rather laid back and very easy going, never in a rush but always on time. I like to observe yet like to be seen. I love to create and have a passion to perform. I learn from the experience of others and share the lessons and tales of mine. I am Canadian yet a citizen of the world. I believe that we are but one people, one small part of an extraordinarily wondrous universe, and I know that only together can we reach our true potential as human beings; and the best way to ease the tension and bring one another together is by having the ability to laugh at ourselves as well as each other for being silly little mother-f--kers

I was born in a trailer park and raised in a bowlling alley, my mom left my dad for a woman whose husband and son then moved in with me and my dad, along with my gay friend who actually lived in my closet, we went on with our totally “normal” lives. I was kicked out of one public and two catholic schools yet still managed to graduate (I’m much smarter than I look). I was living on my own by seventeen, working full time and living a life of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. Moving around alot I ended up in Kimberly, BC. way up in the Rocky Mountains, spent a few years in Toronto. where I attended the Toronto Film School, ventured out west again this time to Vancouver BC. and am now back at the home base in Ottawa. I have a lot of vices and joys in life but nothing gets me off more than making people smile and putting on a good show…

The Chris Timms Comedy Cabaret is a series of six live events showcasing stand-up comedy and live music.

Hosted by comedian Chris Timms, each show features four hilarious up and coming professional and amateur comedians and a musical act who “soundtrack” the entire evening.

The shows takes place in an intimate setting that brings the performers and audience together; after all without one, we wouldn’t have the other... Along with the live events each show is filmed for a web series that will consist of highlights of the performances, as well as interviews and interactions with the performers.

The project is aimed to showcase and promote local entertainment while giving some insight into what some performers go through on show night and what it takes for them to commit to their craft.
