Elections conducted in a most free and most fair manner without bribing any body and without using threats and muscle power, are the base of, as well as a major part of healthy nation-building process. But, the polls are the not the end by themselves. Rather, they are only the beginning for protecting legitimate and real interests of people.

Unfortunately, polls are regularly conducted in the nastiest manner only to fool the people and loot their resources. The "winners" of polls inherit the sole right to do whatever they like and enjoy life.

Elections in Palestine in 2009 created a civil war ignited by USA-Israel terror twins because the Hamas party, opposed by the USA, UK, Israel and other terrocracies, defeated the pro-US Fatah party, won the general elections and formed ministry. This also led to the weakening of the PLO and helped Israel to further intensify their terror attacks on besieged Palestinians though illegal blockades and oppressive measures.

Fatah and Hamas remain divided though both continue their struggle against Israeli fascism. Following the failure to obtain full membership of UN as their legitimate right, both factions seems to have decided to go for a general poll and reinvigorate the PLO.

USA-Israeli terror twins are opposed to Hamas-Fatah unity or any unity government in Palestine that would successfully pursue the course of establishment of Palestine. Their joint terror-cum-triclomatic operations against Palestinians could badly strain the relationships between these main parties and derail the process of peace efforts, though both USA and Israel pretend to be peace makers. Hamas has been making efforts to bridge the gap with Fatah, but USA pressurize the PLO , Fatah and Abbas to finish off Hamas since it won the parliamentary polls, resulting in unfortunate civil war in Palestine.

As the first sign of progress since the signing of a unity pact last May, Fatah and Hamas have agreed on a May date for elections. Both factions of PLO held talks and struck a deal to that effect. Key to the deal is the apparent willingness by Salam Fayyad premier appointed by Abbas, to step aside. The ruling Hamas party has been pressing for Fayyad, appointed without consulting the ruling Hamas government as premier by Abbas, to go, charging that he is a pawn of the Western governments and too close to Israel. As one with experience with World Bank, his presence in the government is used as the comfort level Western governments to funnel the aid to PLO and these terrocracies have demanded Fayyad to stay on in order to funnel aid to the Palestinian Authority. But the fact of the matter is it is Abbas who pulls the western strings to get hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign aid. The election proposals for a new regime plan will be approved at a meeting in Cairo on November 25.

Empowered by the NATO fascism in Islamic world, Israel behaves arrogant with Palestinians.

Meanwhile, Israel continues with its fanatic and fascist designs inside occupied territories of Palestine. It has as before frozen monthly transfer of tax revenue it collects for the Palestinians, in this case some $100 million the Palestinian Authority desperately needs in order to pay its civil workers’ salaries.

Further, as a move that undermines international efforts for Palestine, the Israeli regime is allowing tenders for construction of 800 new homes in areas acquired in the 1967 war. The move is part of Israeli retaliation against the Palestinians for their failed attempt to end-run the negotiating process by seeking UN membership and for seeking and receiving full member status in UNESCO, the UN cultural organization. The new housing starts are for the areas known as Har Homa and Pisgat Zeev, both Jerusalem suburbs which Israel claims do not have the same status as non-Jerusalem communities.

The announcement is just the beginning of the process and no actual construction will ensue for several months. All of the 2,000 new housing units planned overall will be located in areas that are believed to be destined to remain under Israeli sovereignty – a distinction that fails to impress the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, as a direct consequence of aid shipped to Gaza Strip, Turkey's intervention and Palestine securing UNESCO seat, etc, internationally isolated, though not ignored, Israel has been forced to make a few concessions to Palestinians. Recently, even as it talked about proliferating more illegal colonies in still occupied West Bank against international law, rather challenging it, allowed truckloads of building materials banned from the Gaza Strip since the Hamas takeover in 2007 to enter for use in the re-construction of ten privately-owned factories. The Israeli military had previously allowed materials for use in projects supervised by foreign governments, but the decision on 16th Nov for shipments are the first allowed for private sector building. The materials in question had been prohibited out of concern that the ruling Hamas government could use them for their "benefit".

The factories being re-built were hit during Israel’s ground invasion called Operation Cast Lead at the end of 2008 and start of 2009. Israel has been under international pressure to ease the embargo on the Gaza Strip.

Yet, the Fatah leaders of Palestine, like other Arabs elsewhere, are interested only in persona gains and are not very serious about their rightful existence.

And that elaborately suits USA Israel terror twins and other imperialist corporate rogues.

And Fatah and Hamas should avoid getting themselves into US-UK trap during or after the polls.
