Sunshine can fight antibiotic resistant infections







When we were young, our parents always used to tell us, to play out in the sun. For long, sunlight has been known to be very beneficial to mankind for a variety of reasons. Now, we can add another reason to that list. According to a new research, sunshine and blue light may help in the fight against antibiotic resistant infections.

It is believed that sunlight can be used to naturally kill bacteria and treat several bacterial diseases, including skin infection. The study even claims that in the future, with further advance in this field of study, blue light can replace antibiotics, in the treatment of bacterial diseases. In this study, lab animals infected with P. aeruginosa were successfully treated with the help of blue light.

This can be a significant achievement in the field of medical science as patients infected with bacterial diseases can be provided with a natural and less harmful treatment option. Read more..
