The Agency for National Security (NSA) is able to access the user data of the leading manufacturers of smartphones in the world, told the weekly magazine Der Spiegel citing internal documents of the agency.

According to the report, the NSA created working groups for each software developer and is able to read the lists of contacts, text messages, written notes and locate the owners of iPhones, Blackberrys and Android users system. However, there is no evidence in the documents, seen by the magazine, that the NSA has spied so heavy smartphone users.

According to Der Spiegel, the Blackberry company said it has repeatedly stressed in public that "no backdoors (programs that make computers or software exposed to a future invasion) on our platform." Google told the magazine that is not aware of such working groups and do not provide any government access "to our systems." Source: Dow Jones Newswires.
