Ottawa Activist Launches Legal Defence Fund Against Ottawa Police Detective

Are you concerned about cops who appear to view themselves as being "above the law"? Detective Robert Griffin is currently being sued in Ottawa Small Claims Court for witness intimidation and harassment after threats against a plaintiff who had recently also obtained a Court Order allowing him access to his invalid mother.

A cop gone bad?

But this is just the latest in a long history of highly questionable activities by this police officer documented in a small claims court claims.  He is being sued for assault and battery as well as illegal interference. Did Detective Griffin get a bit ‘too rough’ with a crime suspect? Far from it! His attacks have been directed against an innocent member of the community who sought only to protect his rights and the rights of his invalid mother.

In this police drama which resembles the most lurid crime stories and films, ‘bad cop’ Robert Griffin has acted contrary to a court order, has used threatening language, and sought to subvert justice.  A social awareness campaign has been launched to protect other Ottawa residents from the trauma of victimisation by Robert Griffin Jr..

How you can help

The victim of police intimidation at the hands of Detective Griffin has already incurred substantial legal costs in order to ensure that his invalid mother receives adequate care and is able to fulfil her wish of seeing her son. As concerned members of the public, we can help to see that justice is done by supporting his campaign with a donation, however small or large it maybe.
Readers are invited to make their contributions to this important cause via fund-raising site Indiegogo. In doing so, you will not only support social justice, but also contribute to ensuring that bad elements in the police force are dealt with in such a way that activities such as those perpetrated by Detective Griffin will not affect you or someone whom you love.
