Oral health quick tips from the pros

(NC) — Canadians on average are extremely busy, often trying to balance their career, family demands and a social life. We often find ourselves struggling to “do it all” with the added pressure of looking and feeling great while doing so. Recently, Crest and Oral-B consulted with a panel of Canadian health and wellness experts – including Dr. Janet Tamo, a consulting dentist for the brand; Christine Asik, a registered dietician; Kathleen Trotter, a fitness expert; and Caird Urquhart, a life coach. Below are a few of their tips on how we can all take better care of ourselves and lead a healthier life: • When working out at the gym, be effective with your workout. Have a plan, stick to it and figure out what exercises give you the biggest return. • Make it a priority to consistently brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day, and floss. Use a good toothpaste to cover all oral issues. Very popular, for example, is Crest Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control toothpaste. When used as part of the Pro-Health Clinical oral care routine, it fights and protects against plaque build-up, fights cavities, gingivitis, tartar and treats sensitivity contributing to a healthy mouth. • Don't bring junk food into your home. If it's not accessible, you won't be inclined to indulge. Instead make special dates to go out for ice cream or other indulgences with your friends. • Abandon the “all or nothing” mindset. Set realistic goals to avoid the need for emotional eating.
