Canada's Classified takes aim at Kayne West

(MuchMusic.com) -- In Classified’s release Handshakes and Middle Fingers the rapper takes aim at the superficiality of the hip hop world, including one of raps most notorious egomaniacs, Kanye West. Class raps “You never see me loose it trying to justify my music/At award shows cause I didn’t win I know it” most likely in response to Kanye West’s infamous antics at awards shows (Taylorgate was not the first time we saw Kanye appear onstage uninvited).

It’s a bold move for the Canadian rapper to take aim at one of hip hops most beloved, but the artist still keeps it classy, arguing “You never see me with my sunglasses on in the club dancing on the tables to my old song/And you never see me with a couple bottles of Chris trying to pick up on a chick/Like b**ch you want this? That ain’t classy”. In the same vein as Lupe Fiasco and fellow Canadian hip hop artist Shad, Classified’s is one of the few artists who keeps misogyny out of his lyrics.

Classified touches on remaining grounded during his 15 year plus career in the music business with the backdrop of a full orchestra in his new video for ‘That Ain’t Classy’. Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments section!
