Ottawa: Algonquin College names new President



OTTAWA (1310News) - Algonquin College formally introduced Dr. Kent MacDonald as the college's seventh President, Wednesday morning.

He replaces Robert C. Gillett, who had held the post for 17 years.

Dr. MacDonald has been at Algonquin College since 1998,  when he was Chair of the Business and Technology Department. 

He has been Vice President of Academics at the college since July of 2008 and was one of ten people on the short list of candidates for the top spot.
