Dating: Top Eight natural alternatives to Viagra

When anyone thinks of Viagra, they think of the erection problems that the male within a relationship is having. The problem is that most men are embarrassed to go to their doctor to discuss the idea of getting Viagra, leaving many couples unhappy with their sex lives, and on the brink of breaking up.

Wouldn’t you give it a go if you knew that there were herbal and all-natural alternatives to Viagra out there that you could try at home without the stigma attached? Most men would be more likely to try and address the issue if they knew there was a secretive and easy way out, and the natural alternatives offer many men a way out of the problem.

Of course, none of the reported alternatives to Viagra have been given the official seal of approval by the powers-that-be, but just because there isn’t “sufficient” evidence to support them, there isn’t “sufficient” evidence to disprove them either. This, for many men, means that they still stand a chance.

It has been reported that around 30 million men in the United States alone have suffered with erectile dysfunction at some point in their lives. Perhaps the following list of all natural Viagra-type foods, supplements and therapies will make all the difference….

1.  Acupuncture – for years this alternative treatment has been used for many ailments and complaints, and erectile dysfunction is just one of the any conditions it has been said to treat successfully.

2.  Arginine – this is an amino acid that is naturally present in many food items, but it contains nitric oxide which apparently facilitates the erection by causing the blood vessels to dilate in the penis. Mixed and varied results have come from the experiments researching this theory, but it has been noted that many men that take this supplement have an improved sex life in one form or another, which would suggest there was some truth in the matter.

3.  The same nitric acid that is said to be found in Arginine is also believed to be the reason why Ginseng has become a popular herbal remedy for erectile dysfunction. Although again not yet confirmed, this is a natural remedy that has been around for many years, and with many men seeing a sexual improvement after taking Ginseng, it would suggest that to some extent at least, it works.

4.  Horny Goat Weed – this has been found in many sexual stimulants for years, and can even be found in drinks to achieve the same effects too. There is something found in Horny Goat Weed called icariin, which is believed to be exactly the same as the ingredients found in Viagra; the same ingredients that causes it to work in the fight against erectile dysfunction.

5.  Pomegranate Juice – This juice has plenty of anti-oxidants which have many positive effects on the body, and just one of the bonuses of drinking this juice is that it has been said to have a positive effect on ED problems. The main reason is believed to be the benefits that the juice has on the heart and blood, although the real reason has yet to be identified.

6.  Yohimbe – this is a virtually unheard of herb, but has been said to help with ED problems. However, the bad thing about this herb is that it can have many nasty side effects, including jittering, high blood pressure, anxiety and even bad headaches. Although it has been shown to have some effect on the penis, it is not really known what, or how it works.

7.  Garlic – although smelly, there are actually a large number of health benefits for both men and women, and that doesn’t include the old wives tales of keeping vampires at bay! Women can use it to treat yeast infections, and now men can use it to cure their erectile dysfunction too! The nitric oxide factor comes into play yet again with this delicious alternative to Viagra, and the hormone Allicin, which is known to have a changing effect on a low libido. The only thing is you must eat it raw or crushed to get both the benefits, and if you eat loads of it, you are likely to have a sick tummy.

8.  Maca Root – This is actually known to be Peru’s very own herbal version of Viagra. Normally used as an extract of sorts in various drinks and foods, it has been said to not only negate erectile dysfunction, but also to increase libido, as well as many other things.
