President George Bush had once claimed he was told by God to invade Iraq. War has spread throughout the Middle East ever since Mr. Bush’s faith-based war directive. Do we, as humans, need to come to grips with what “God” represents, before we can begin to affirm human rights, peace on Earth, and freedom from oppression and exploitation?

What is this “God” that devout Christians, Jews and Muslims refer to as “He”, anyways? More precisely, why does “He” apparently inspire wars for humans to destroy each other?

Why would a God “of humans” inspire the “alienation” of the supposed “children of God” from each other? Do such questions require a re-examination of the “Male God”, that pits creeds on Earth against each other, as aspiring conqueror would using a well known tactic of war in relation to an ethos of “divide and rule“?

The former President had made his faith-based assertion during his first meeting with Palestinian leaders in June 2003, according to a BBC series.
