Kashmir: Police arrests eyewitness to Sumbal killing







Bandipora (India-controlled Kashmir) -- Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, the driver who was accompanying the Indian Army to Markundal Sumbal area of Bandipora district in Indian controlled Kashmir on the night of the killing of a 17-year old youth, has been arrested by the police.

Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh had spoken out to the media about the involvement of Indian Army in the killing of Mohammad Irfan in Sumbal Bandipora.

SDPO Sumbal, Irshad Ahmad while talking to valley based online News magazine “The Vox Kashmir” confirmed that Manzoor Ahmad had been arrested. “We have arrested him for questioning”, Irshad Ahmad said.

Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh had spoken about the sequence of events which took place the night Irfan was killed. “It (bullet) was obviously fired by the Indian army as they were the only who were present there (Markundal)”, he had said.
