CP -- Michael J. Fox, Christopher Plummer, Will Arnett and Barry Pepper are among the Canadian celebrities that will be vying for Emmys this year.

That's in addition to several Canadian productions that have racked up several nominations.

They include the beleaguered historical drama The Kennedys, the papal co-production The Borgias, the sprawling epic Pillars of the Earth, and the long-running teen series Degrassi.

Fox is up for best guest actor in a drama for The Good Wife and Plummer is up for best voice-over for Moguls & Movie Stars.

Arnett got the nod for best guest actor in a comedy for 30 Rock, while Kennedys co-star Pepper vies for best actor in a miniseries.

The Kennedys racked up 10 nominations overall, while Pillars earned seven, and The Borgias earned six.

The Kennedys and Pillars of the Earth will vie for the title of best miniseries against rivals Cinema Verite, Downton Abbey, Mildred Pierce and Too Big To Fail.

The kudos come after a particularly difficult run for The Kennedys, which was dropped by the History Channel in the U.S. amid complaints about historical accuracy.

Pillars of the Earth was an international co-production featuring Canadian stars Donald Sutherland, Alison Pill and Gordon Pinsent.

Degrassi has been nominated for best children's program.

The nominations were announced in Los Angeles this morning. The hardware will be handed out Sept. 18.
