Since I’ve moved to Hintonburg, Indian Express Food & Sweets has been a regular stop of mine on the way back from work. In the fall, the owners of the shop much beloved by John Baird announced they would move their shop to a bigger location at the former Wine Garden location on Somerset. The months past, and what was to be an October opening transformed into “We’re too busy at the restaurant…too many delays.”

But today, I heard great news from India Express owner Rakesh Ahluwalia.  “All permits are in, all inspections are done, and we should be ready to open at the new location the first week of March.” The new restaurant will be able to host up to 40 patrons, will serve beer and wine while serving the same delicious menu of mains and sweets.

Ahluwalia told me that the new restaurants will have a patio at the front of the building that where an additional 30 people could sit. (But I’ll believe it when I see it!)
