Costa Hollywood targets global jewish community

By offering a unique package of amenities aimed at the global Jewish community, Costa Hollywood is attracting regional, national and international buyers seeking a distinctive oceanfront resort lifestyle.

An innovative luxury condominium on Hollywood's beach – midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale – Costa Hollywood will feature 307 luxury residences, a gym, spa, and several upscale restaurants, as well as its own synagogue, and kosher dining facilities.

With prices starting at $220,000’s, Costa Hollywood's studios, and one- and two-bedroom units are attractive and affordable "turnkey" vacation homes with advanced technology, luxury furnishings and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. Amenities include a rooftop infinity pool, romantic courtyard and entertainment lounge area. In addition, the six-floor condominium resort will encompass Hollywood Beach Village, an upscale outdoor retail and dining district with boutique shops, restaurants and a holistic day spa.

But developer Moses Bensusan, President and CEO of Liberty Grande, LLC, is going several steps beyond those world-class amenities to cater to the needs of U.S. and international Jewish buyers.

“Costa Hollywood welcomes people from all over the world, vacationers who appreciate the many wonderful amenities available at luxury resorts," said Bensusan. "Our clientele appreciates the potential of owning a vacation home but we will be mindful of the Jewish community and, as such, will have a synagogue on site as well as a kosher dining establishment.”

Many in South Florida's Jewish community are pleased with Bensusan's vision for Costa Hollywood. In keeping with his philosophy, Bensusan recently sponsored a ceremony dedicating the offering of a sefer Torah.  The ceremony at the nearby Trump Hollywood was attended by “some of the world’s most important Jewish individuals from Argentina, Canada, Israel and other parts of the world,” said David Malka, organizer of the event. “His eminence Admor of Malta, a notable tzadik who travels the world to bless people, flew in specifically for the occasion." Written and blessed, the sefer Tofer will be stored in the Costa Hollywood synagogue.

Bensusan says the existence of a sefer Torah makes the synagogue of Costa Hollywood a worthy destination for observant Jews searching for a place to stay for an event, a vacation or simple necessity. But for South Florida Jews, it’s an additional boom, as are the kosher dining facilities – especially when looking for bar mitzvah. bat mitzvah or wedding facilities. When completed in 2015, Costa Hollywood will provide a venue for conducting a ceremony, hosting a reception and housing out-of-town guests all in one place.

The $180 million project is located at 777 North Ocean Drive in Hollywood, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway near the city's world-renowned Boardwalk.  "Costa Hollywood will be a five-star resort," Bensusan said. "Three of the five restaurants will offer fine dining, and we will also have a rooftop pool deck."

Bensusan adds that Costa Hollywood was conceived to provide buyers and guests with an opportunity to enjoy the City of Hollywood's beautiful beaches and parks, restaurants, bars, casinos, lounges, water sports and marina, as well as activities year round.

Already, Bensusan is reporting strong interest from Jewish buyers from the U.S., South America and European, who appreciate the convenience of having a synagogue on site. In a recent newspaper interview, Hollywood Commissioner Patricia Asseff, a real estate agent, said she thought the synagogue would appeal to the global market. "A lot of people will buy there because they will want to have a chabad there," she said. "It's an international hotel and a lot of people will want to come to the chabad."
