One of the fundamentals problems with modern day Capitalism is that, it leads to a larger divide between the rich and the poor. As the rich are getting richer with every passing day, the poor are getting poorer. An art exhibition in Ottawa, by Quebec artist Karine Giboulo, reveals this disparity between the rich and poor.

The artist used miniature figures to display the deep division that exists in our society. Giboulo says that she was inspired to work on this project, when she visited a slum in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. With the help of these miniature figures, the artist has beautifully portrayed the relationship between corporate opulence and dire poverty.

Karine Giboulo’s work is truly thought provoking and she truly displays the magnitude of poverty that exists in our planet. She creates a beautiful contrast between so-called economic development and the poverty that can be found in places across the planet. Read more..
