An instant hit since its premiere in 1812 and famously described by Richard Wagner as “the apotheosis of the dance,†Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony pulses with rhythmic vitality. NAC Conductors Program alumni and current Music Director of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Pietari Inkinen leads Beethoven’s work – alive with movement – along with the composer’s Piano Concerto No. 1, performed by gifted pianist Saleem Abboud Ashkarin his NAC Orchestra debut. The program also features Haydn’s Symphony No. 80, one of the composer’s most celebrated works, featuring triumphant trumpets and timpani.
