Ottawa Festivals: Capital Ukrainian Festival

For a great time, bring your family and friends to experience the culture, life, food and heritage of the Ukrainian people.

Located on 952 Green Valley Crescent, Ottawa, from July 21, until July 23, 2017, the Capital Ukrainian Festival features great music, amazing food, lively dance, cold drinks, handmade crafts and original artwork displayed along the picturesque banks of the Rideau Canal. Enjoy authentic Ukrainian cuisine as you wish your friends “Smachnoho” (Bon appetite) and propose a toast “Na zdrovia!” (To your health!).

Going on its third year, the festival has become East Ontario’s biggest and most prestigious Ukrainian summer festival. It has also been nominated for the Ottawa Tourism award for the second year in a row, an award that honors the industry’s best.

Some of the best performers from around the world have assembled to perform modern and traditional favorites. Don’t forget to give your taste buds a treat as you try some authentic Ukrainian soul-food, made fresh using fresh local ingredients. Although workshops vary from year to year, you can count on experiencing some of the more traditional ones, such as vinok making, kolomeyjka and ritual bread braiding weaving.

Your family will also enjoy the entertainment and nightlife, children’s activities, petting zoo, church tours, a large marketplace, and so much more. Admission and parking is free so come out and take part in the festivities. For more information, visit .
