On 11 April, US National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) released a series of interesting images of the Martian surface caught by the agency’s Reconnaissance Orbiter. In those images it is possible to see some structures that scientists have denominated “sand dunes”, but UFO researchers and alien-life enthusiasts disagree with this definition.

According to an article published on San Francisco-based online news site SFGate, some UFO researchers believe that the photos show the “ventilation roof of [an] underground Martian city”.

“Scientists say honeycomb formations surrounding a strange-looking Martian crater recently photographed by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter are eroded sand dunes, but UFO hunters know better”, stated the Californian newspaper.

The article quotes the opinion of famous ufologist Scott C. Waring, of UFO Sightings Daily blog, who has spent most of his life analysing UFO and alien phenomena. “Those are no dunes — they're the superstructure of a ventilation roof for an underground city inhabited by tiny aliens”, he affirmed. “They would have to be on the petite side as the crater — which NASA describes as a heavily eroded mesa in Noctis Labyrinthyuson, a region in the western end of Valles Marineris — is less than a half kilometre in width”, he added.

Mr Waring also firmly claimed that the honeycombed building also resembles a “baleen-like structure”. “You will see walls that are between 10-30 meters high, and in between them you see a baleen-like structure”, he expressed.

“You see that below the baleen structure is nothing but blackness, so I assume that this is a ventilation roof of an underground city”, Mr Waring argued. In his opinion, “this is a city created by tiny aliens”.

“With an environment as harsh and unforgiving as Mars, you want to be underground where the temperature is much more tolerable day in and day out”, the American ufologist asserted.
