Vancouver: Where to Go On a First Date

Your first date with someone may determine whether you go out with them again so the setting must be right.

Don’t go out for a fancy dinner. Fancy dinners should be saved for special people and on a first date it looks like you’re trying too hard. Movies are also a bad choice. It’s dark, awkward, and you can’t talk so how would you know if you like each other enough to hang out again? This might be a no brainer, but strip clubs aren’t great for first dates. At least make sure you’ve been intimate with someone before you start watching ladies dance around naked together. Seriously though, side note for the ladies; strippers are a normal part of man life, so don’t give your man a hard time if his buddy has a stripper at his bachelor party. Every man has seen a woman he doesn’t know take off her clothes in front of a group of strangers, even your dad.

Daytime dates can be a lot of fun. The best thing about lunch dates is that if you get stuck with a dud, you can make a quick escape. You can also monitor their daytime drinking habits. If you’re enjoying your date’s company let the beauty of Vancouver show you a good time. Walk the seawall, build a sand castle at the beach, or rent bikes and rip through Stanley Park.

It’s been scientifically proven that men become turned on by physical activity with a woman they’re attracted to. This doesn’t just refer to sex. In other words, build up your chemistry and go bowling, play botchiball at the park, etc.

Live entertainment can make for a wonderful first date. Find a local pub that plays live music. It gives you something to talk about and you can find out if your music tastes mix.
